Full Bio & Programs

If you are less than passionate about the food you eat, resist eating well, and know that poor nutrition is contributing to your health concerns, this is the program for you. For many of us, food has become a problem—something that we are at war with, struggle against, or are seduced by. It does not have to be that way. You can establish a healthy, nourishing relationship with the foods you eat. And when you do, you will naturally increase your energy and vitality and decrease those cravings for quick fixes that don’t actually satisfy you in the end.
Food has the power to nurture and heal the body and mind. While we may know this intuitively, we often don’t appreciate just how true it is. We literally are what we eat. In this program, you will join medical doctor Susan Lord, formerly of the Center for Mind-Body Medicine, and discover how your food choices influence the biochemistry of the body—creating imbalance and chronic disease or restoring vibrant health. You will have hands-on practice in meal planning and preparation with Kripalu’s renowned chefs, who will get you excited about an amazing array of delicious whole-foods meals. You’ll also enjoy workshops with nutritionists and senior yoga teachers, learning how to listen to and enjoy your body in order to make really good food choices that meet your body’s unique needs.
During these five days, you will not only learn how to let food nurture you (and your family) back to health, you will also delight your taste buds.
