Kripalu Center’s Vision for the Future
June 2005
Our vision is simple: to continue to develop Kripalu Center as a unique nonsectarian institution where people can come to experience their most authentic selves and find their place in the world by exploring the art and science of yoga, as well as all complementary wisdom practices, philosophies and cutting-edge inquiries. We draw on more than 30 years as North America’s largest residential yoga and retreat center, where 28,000 people a year come for workshops, conferences and personal retreats. Our services and programs are continually evolving in response to the growing demand for honest and unfettered inquiry into what produces thriving in the individual, their communities and the world.
Our intention is for people to leave Kripalu Center with a clear sense of how to incorporate real change into their lives, amidst all their personal challenges and the challenges of our times—the speed of life, health concerns and choices, elderly parents, educating children. We teach reliable, practical tools for generating more freedom, vitality and fulfillment.
To support this vision, we are building an inspired and dedicated management team and staff who can deliver a sustainable business model with world-class centers for professional training, research and publishing, therapeutic wellness, broader philanthropic activities, and college-level programs. We are also in the beginning stages of a master-planning process to improve the aesthetic environment and functionality of the buildings and grounds.
Even as we evolve and grow, our core remains constant: we are a place for people to gain fresh perspectives, develop physical health, nurture emotional wellness and draw spiritual sustenance.
